South Raja Ampat – 12D11N
South Raja Ampat Misool Expedition – 12 Days of Untamed Diving
Discover the wild heart of South Raja Ampat on this immersive 12-day liveaboard expedition, beginning in Sorong and journeying deep into the legendary waters of Misool. From your very first check dive at Saonek before cruising overnight into the southern reaches, the adventure unfolds across dramatic reef systems, limestone pinnacles, hidden lagoons, and some of the most biodiverse dive sites on Earth. This route focuses heavily on Misool’s world-famous reefs, offering 3–4 dives per day in locations like Boo Windows, Magic Mountain, Farondi Cave, and the spectacular Daram Islands.
Expect a dynamic mix of pelagic action and macro treasures. Oceanic manta rays glide through cleaning stations, wobbegong sharks rest beneath coral ledges, while pygmy seahorses and rare nudibranchs hide among giant sea fans and black coral forests. Strong currents bring nutrient-rich waters, creating dense fish biomass with schools of trevally, barracuda, bumphead parrotfish, and reef sharks. Between dives, explore Balbulol’s hidden lagoons, hike panoramic viewpoints, and enjoy relaxed crossings aboard the elegant Blue Dream Phinisi before concluding in the iconic Dampier Strait. This expedition is designed for divers seeking intensity, biodiversity, and true exploration in Raja Ampat’s southern frontier.
